There may be an assessment at the end of your course, which would take place at a college near to you.

 
 


To Qualify for Free Training

If you are over 16, a resident in England and have lived in the EU for the last 3 years, for purposes other than full-time study, you will qualify for free training, funded by the Learning and Skills Council. If you do not meet this criteria, you can still apply to do the course, but there will be a charge involved.

If you can't find a course to suit here, have a look at ICS (International Correspondence Schools), who offer over 200 distance learning courses, from GCSEs to BA Degree programmes, all at reasonable prices starting from just £69. You can purchase courses online and you'll be sent a cd with your course material. You'll also have access to online support, libraries and student communities. You can study from anywhere, from any country, and at the end of the course, if you want the certification, arrange to sit an exam in the UK.

Language Courses  

If you are going abroad or working with people from a different country, why not get a head start and learn a language? The Rosetta Stone language software program provides language instruction in 28 different languages. The program is used by Fortune 500 companies, NASA, the US State Department, over 10,000 schools, and more than 5 million people worldwide. You can purchase a cd with your chosen course, or opt to study online by monthly subscription, which can work out much cheaper if you put in the time.
